Labuan General Hospital Observe Hospital Week through its Service
The Labuan General Hospital, together with DOH region 9 and its partners, observed the national Hospital week, last August 2, until August 13, 2020. The hospital week is observed by all government hospitals in the nation, as annotate the positive effect, the hospitals and health care workers have, in their community. This year’s hospital week theme is: “Hospitals as Champions in People Centered Care in fight against COVID 19”
The current COVID pandemic has brought a lot of changes in its wake. And it is of no secret that our health care workers for any sector, is putting their maximum efforts to keep this threat at minimum. For this year, in break from traditional practice, the hospital week has focused its activities and events to a bare minimum, and instead focused on improving healthcare services that the community currently needs.
For Labuan General Hospital, improvements are made in their surgery and obstetrics. We are pleased to report, that our COVID prevention practices in all areas has passed the standard requested both by the international guidelines of WHO and the Department of Health. As the hospital promises safer and acceptable COVID guidelines in every surgical (minor or Major) as well as obstetrical operations.
Aside from our COVID prevention, the hospital has also taken its steps to promote awareness of other communicable disease that threaten our community. All other cases, like dengue or diarrhea, are closely monitored in the hospital, so we can be ready if any other disease threaten to spread uncontrollably. The hospital also offers free psychological counseling for both its staff, and interested clients.
We once again applaud our health care worker, for their tireless efforts and sacrifices, to bring this community their health care needs. Hopefully, we can show them our appreciation in the coming days ahead.
